Your training. Her future.

As a child, I spent a lot of time in India. A deep memory is being stuck in traffic and seeing little girls, my age or younger than me, running in between cars, tapping on windows, desperately asking for money or food, calling me didi, which means ‘elder sister’.

I always thought of those little girls, and wondered about the lives they lived. Through this training, I want to help them, just like a didi would.

1 in 4 girls in India drops out of school before reaching puberty, often due to poverty, early marriage, or lack of access to resources.

At the heart of our yoga teacher training is a deep commitment to uplift, empower and honour where this wisdom comes from.

That’s why we’ve partnered with a charity supporting girls’ education in India, the very land that gave us yoga.

When education is out of reach, so is freedom. A girl who can’t access school may grow into a woman with limited choices, trapped by poverty and societal expectation. But when she learns, everything changes, for her, her family, and generations to come.

We care deeply about breaking these cycles. For every training you complete, you fund an entire year of schooling for an underprivileged girl in India.

Your education is hers.

We’re incredibly proud of this initiative, and we can’t wait to share how many lives we collectively impact. Through our first cohort of yoga teacher training, we’re proud to have supported the education of 10 girls in India.

The Incredible Charity

The vision of Project Nanhi Kali is to create a world where girls from lower income strata, despite the patriarchal challenges and societal biases they face, are empowered through education.

In alignment with National Education Policy 2020, the educational support provides 21st century skills training, making the transition from school to the workplace more seamless. The skills include financial and digital literacy as well as life skills. The program also integrates physical education to cultivate leadership, teamwork and fitness.

They have supported 870,000+ girls since inception. We are incredibly proud of their huge efforts to help girls learn, and are grateful to support their fantastic work.

Our Scholarship Commitment

We believe that yoga should be accessible, inclusive, and rooted in equity. Our scholarship programme is designed to support those who are underrepresented in the wellness space, particularly individuals facing financial barriers. By offering partial scholarships, we hope to honour the spirit of seva (selfless service) and contribute to a more diverse and compassionate community of yoga teachers.

This is one way we’re making sure the teachings of yoga are shared with depth, care, and fairness.

Get a feel for Angie’s style and teaching

"Angie brought me closer to yoga, to my culture and released a lot of built up tension and emotion I had around the practice being whitewashed. I learnt so much about the deep meaning and roots of yoga and I am so thankful to Angie for that. Finding her and taking the leap to join UNEARTHED was one of the best decisions I’ve made. "

Himani, Senior Customer Success Manager

"Particularly as a white western yoga teacher, who learnt from white western teachers, I want to know whether I’m doing/saying the right thing. Angie’s workshop gave me that and so much more. Her purpose is to leave you feeling empowered to teach about the history, philosophy and culture of yoga, and I definitely do!"

Rachel, Yoga Teacher

“Incredibly inspiring, so much to think about, discover and take action on.”

Caroline, Yoga Teacher & Studio Owner

"Angie is one of the leading voices for teaching people about respecting India’s roots while bringing yoga to our modern lives. She perfectly and seamlessly blends this teaching with cool and kindness."

Kat, Founder Of Yogi Bare

“The breadth and depth of her knowledge of yoga philosophy and history adds to the experience that goes well beyond a standard studio yoga class. Studying with Angie is a transformative experience."

Stephen, Executive Director & CEO

“Delving into the deeper Philosophy of Yoga, understanding the foundations of yoga has been so interesting. It was overall a very empowering, inspiring experience.
